Career Coaching Pro (CCP) aims to help individuals find their ideal role with increased pay and meaning or shine in their current position. My focus for this project is to update CCP’s service packages to better assist individuals in landing their next opportunity.

Project Overview

  • Career Coaching Pro (CCP) aims to help individuals find their ideal role with increased pay and meaning or shine in their current position. My focus for this project is to update CCP’s service packages to better assist individuals in landing their next opportunity.

  • Job seekers are skeptical about career coaches because of the cost and whether it’s worth paying for career coaching services.

  • I remodelled the client’s service package comparison and presented optimal packages that would work for them distinctively.

To showcase the value of working with CCP, my team and I updated the packages comparison chart, modify the user journey, and include additional package options for job seekers to help them land fulfilling roles.

The Process

Meet Una

The client’s target audience are unemployed tech professionals like Una, who wants to know what jobs to apply to (junior to mid level) be more successful and not hear that she’s either under or overqualified as a candidate.

Empathy Map

My team and I identified 2 key findings to improve our client’s approach as a career coach:

  • Emphasizing the pay-later option to build trust with job seekers and

  • Highlighting our unique method of helping job seekers find their niche in order to narrow their search.

The User Flow

The journey of our job-seeking individuals start at the “Service” tab found on the navigation, where they can access 3 packages to help them find their next ideal role by:

  • Purchasing videos

  • Scheduling 1:1 personalized coaching sessions, and/or

  • Signing up for Group Cohort sessions

Original user flow and service:

Modified user flow and service:

Impact of the modified user flow has on the company:

  • Maximizes the client’s time to meet with job seekers while the manual application process is streamlines and now system automated

  • Improves user experience for job seekers to view and pick cohorts they want to join and include additional services they can add to their shopping cart.

By drawing inspiration from existing comparison charts used by other companies, my team and I developed a unique and simplified representation that effectively differentiates the Client’s services from one another.

Here’s the problem

The comparison chart failed to provide a clear differentiation between the Group Sessions and 1:1 Personalized Coaching services, as both categories shared a common description box.

Furthermore, the comparison chart exhibited several instances of misalignment between bullet items and their corresponding checkmarks.

Area of Opportunity

The new chart meticulously highlights the distinctive services and benefits of each service. This redesigned chart significantly simplifies the decision-making process for job-seekers, empowering them to effortlessly select the coaching package that perfectly caters to their specific needs and requirements.

Lessons Learned

Throughout this project, I worked in biweekly sprints with my team, we learned how to:

  • Navigate tasks through a point system that set ideal goals, which helped us organize work flow, manage our time, and, pivot when we need to rearrange tasks

  • Improve the feedback cycle by addressing blockers with the stakeholder and team
